St. Philips Church is off Chapel St. Salford, between Salford Cathedral and Salford University on the Crescent. A magnificant building with good acoustics, it is used by choirs, orchestras, chamber groups and now aLECTRO_eCOUSTIC. The first event was a large scale exhibition of sound emitting objects solicited from lots of artists/musicians. Since then 3 or 4 nights of experimental music and video have shaken the pews. |

and unplugboy (aka daniel weaver with cello-input-laptop), installing a spacious sound system in the galleries and alcoves for an all around sensual sound as the poor little cello is bounced and trounced from pillar to pew, dunked in the font and flayed on the altar of MULCH .

Sherry Ostapovich "music
for one" - solo guitar . I would say she plays a calming expansive
music that opens up the sound of the guitar. It is harmonic and melodic,
without necasserily using conventional chord sequences or tunes. Whilst
Jazz fans may bemoan the lack of twiddling, she clearly displays technique
and a control of the instrument... but she says: my approach is exploratory but retains the feeling of minimalism that runs through some of the guitar music of the last century. it's always evolving and changing. the 'songs' are merely loose structures, sounds, or ideas in the process of being realised. i take the limitations of my instrument and effects pedals and stretch them into new sounds and directions.
