After a stint at Edinburgh , Toshi will be passing through in search of regional hospitality and hi-brow English culture . oops !
After a solo spot on his paired down percussion set-up he will be joined by DJ Andi Chaple and Bass Clarinettist Howard Jacobs for impromptu culture clashes or spiritual bonding , depending .
Also present will be Illuminati - electronic music from the Planet Sounds label .
Expect humour and smut dressed up as electronica , refuse to dance and maintain a safe distance from mains outlets .
And rumoured , but as yet unconfirmed is an appearance by Semay Wu and Seaming - 'cello and voice ; sporting new hairdos and revelling in the infamy that surrounds their unpatetented alleatoric compositions . Maybe .
So for a change , lots of real , old-fashioned instruments outnumbering the knob twiddlers and button pushers . Yet sparks may fly .

17th September as usual , barcentro , tib st., manchester , free .
Laborotoire (Nottingham) featuring Morgan Caney who has a record out on City Centre Offices . They use rhythmic machinery to compliment an odd assortment of instruments and furniture . Very nice boys .
Ray Lee has sadly cancelled due to other commitments , but perhaps he will bring his theremin and optophone another time . It is also likely that he will bring an exhibition of sound sculptures to Manchester soon , curtesy of aLECTRO_eCOUSTIC so keep reading these mails .
A replacement is being sought - no fear a_e will never short change you .
NA - is a young feller from round these parts playing subtle feedbacks and lo-fi electronics . His CDr "eight zero" shows great control and intensity with incomprehensible sleeve notes (a winning combination in my book) .

Mark Pilkington - electronic music . What can I say ? copious producer of childeren with a tendency to bring much equipment , makes a living writing games tunes , Mark is well known round here and in Scandinavia .
Jose's Fish - Video and music , never seen them so I don't know what they're like . Let it be known that I have the most inscutable selection process to ensure only the best aVANT_eSOTERICA gets seen at a_e .
